Hill graduated from Corona High School in 1925 where he was a scholar, the class president, and lettered in four sports. He went on to play football and run track at Riverside Community College and then the University of Southern California. Hill played baseball for the New York Yankees in 1935, and would return to Corona to teach and coach during the off-season. Following his baseball career and time serving his country during WWII, he became USC’s first track coach in 1949 and later a renowned football coach. Hill was the first person to both play and coach in the Rose Bowl and went on to become an Athletic Director with the most NCAA Championships in USC history. Corona High School is proud to cherish our history by honoring such a distinguished Alumnus.
